 Perspective

 

The viewing angle of the LED display screen is determined by the viewing angle of the side-emitting patch LED. At present, most outdoor display screens use straw hat LEDs with a viewing angle of 100° and a vertical viewing angle of 50°, while indoor display screens use SMD LEDs with a vertical viewing angle of 120°. Because of its particularity, the display screen on the expressway generally uses a round LED with a 30° viewing angle. Some display screens on tall buildings have higher requirements for vertical viewing angles. Viewing angle and brightness are contradictory to each other, and a large viewing angle will inevitably reduce brightness. The choice of perspective needs to be decided according to the detailed use.  

 

Brightness   

 

LED brightness is an important decision factor for the brightness of the display screen. The higher the brightness of the LED, the greater the margin for the use of current, which is beneficial to saving power consumption and maintaining the stability of the LED. LEDs have different angle values. Under the condition that the brightness of the chip is fixed, the smaller the angle, the brighter the LED, but the smaller the viewing angle of the display screen. Generally, a 100-degree LED should be selected to ensure a sufficient viewing angle of the display screen. For display screens with different dot pitches and different viewing distances, a balance point should be found in brightness, angle and price. 

 

Failure Rate  

 

Since the full-color display screen is composed of tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands of red, green, and blue LEDs, the failure of any color LED will affect the overall visual effect of the display screen. Generally speaking, according to industry experience, the failure rate between the initial assembly of the LED display screen and the 72-hour aging before shipment should be no more than three ten thousandths (referring to the failure caused by the LED lamp beads themselves).  

 

Antistatic ability   

 

LED is a semiconductor device, which is sensitive to static electricity and can easily cause static failure. Therefore, anti-static ability is very important to the life of the display screen. Generally speaking, the failure voltage of the human body electrostatic form test of the LED should not be lower than 2000V.
